Free TempVoice Alternative: Temporary Voice Channels

Temporary voice channels solve a problem every growing server hits: either you have three voice channels and they are always full, or you have twenty and most sit empty. TempVoice is a popular dedicated bot for this, and it does the job well. How join-to-create works

The idea is simple:

1. Members join a creator channel (for example "➕ Create channel").
2. The bot instantly creates a new voice channel, names it after them, makes them the owner and moves them in.
3. When the last person leaves, the channel is deleted.

Nobody waits for an admin to make a room, and your channel list stays clean.

Setting it up in under a minute

Run /voice setup (you need the Manage Channels permission). The bot creates three things for you:

• a category for temporary channels,
• an interface text channel with the control panel,
• a creator voice channel.

You can also do it from the dashboard, which is handy if you want to place the creator inside an existing category. The bot needs Manage Channels, Manage Roles and Move Members to create rooms and apply permissions; it never asks for Administrator.

The control panel: 15 buttons

The interface channel holds a panel whose buttons act on whichever temporary channel you are currently in. Here is what each does:

Waiting rooms deserve a closer look

When you enable a waiting room, your channel is locked and a separate "waiting" voice channel appears next to it. When someone joins the waiting room, you get a button in your channel's chat to let them in. It is perfect for streamers taking guests, coaching sessions or a squad that wants to vet who joins.

/voice for keyboard users

Everything on the panel also exists as a slash command: /voice name, /voice limit, /voice lock, /voice unlock, /voice hide, /voice unhide, /voice trust, /voice untrust, /voice block, /voice unblock, /voice kick, /voice claim, /voice transfer and /voice delete. Members who prefer typing never need to visit the interface channel.

One Discord limit worth knowing: a channel can only be renamed twice every ten minutes. If someone renames more often, MagnificBot applies the new name as soon as Discord allows it, so do not worry if it takes a moment.

Settings worth tuning

• Name template: the default is {username}'s channel; you can use {username}, {user} and {count} to fit your style, such as 🎮 {username}.
• Channels per member: 1 by default, up to 5.
• Delete delay: 0 to 60 seconds before an empty channel disappears. A few seconds helps when someone drops and rejoins.
• Log channel: record when temporary channels are created and deleted.

Because temp voice lives in the same bot as everything else, it connects with other modules. Voice time can earn XP in the Levels module, and the Logs module can track voice joins, leaves and moves.

What the free plan includes

The temp voice module, the full control panel and all /voice commands are free. The free plan has a starter limit on creator channels per server, which is enough for most communities. If you want separate creators for different games or sizes (a "Duo" creator with a limit of 2, a "Squad" creator with 5), Premium raises that limit together with the others. See pricing. FAQ

What happens when the owner leaves the channel?

The channel stays while others are inside. Anyone in it can use Claim to become the new owner.

Can I stop certain people from joining my channel?

Yes. Use Block to stop them seeing or joining, or lock the channel and trust only the people you want.

Do I need Administrator permission for the bot?

No. It needs Manage Channels, Manage Roles and Move Members.

Can members earn XP in temporary channels?

Yes, if the Levels module is enabled with voice XP, time in temporary channels counts like any other voice channel.
